I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar for a while, for cooking, marinating and on salads. I ran into a friend in Whole Foods one day and I inspected her shopping cart, out of habit lol! She had a bottle of Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar Ginger Spice drink. She said it was her favorite so of course I had to get one. Well…so began my daily ritual! After drinking one or two daily I decided I needed a more cost efficient way to go so I decided to make my own. It’s not exact but close enough. I make it fresh each day. It is refreshing and energizing and even keeps my energy levels up through my workouts.
Apple Cider Vinegar Ginger Drink
3 Tbsp Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar
16 oz cold water
¼ tsp fresh grated ginger
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
4-5 drops liquid Stevia
Blend all ingredients in a blender. Add ice or chill in refrigerator. Enjoy!
Vinegar is a common household product that has endless uses. It can be used as a cleaning agent, in salads, and for many other reasons. While many products out on the market tout health benefits such as cancer reducing claims and weight loss magic, there is some promise as to what vinegar can do for health. While vinegar in high amounts can be tart to the taste, apple cider vinegar is a product that tastes great and can help promote health.
Also, never drink vinegar straight. It is a potent acid that can be dangerous if aspirated, may cause burns to the tender tissue of the mouth and esophagus, and can lead to tooth erosion. And because vinegar could interact with medications, and its anti-glycemic effect may be dangerous to diabetics taking insulin, talk to your doctor before using it therapeutically if these are concerns for you.
