Low self-confidence, low energy, lack of motivation…
So many times I meet with potential clients that have never exercised or have stopped exercising for many reasons. Life basically got in the way. Whether it’s work, kids, partner, stress, we sometimes put ourselves aside thinking we need to take care of priorities first. The problem is though, that our physical and emotional health is priority. Please realize how important health and fitness is to your emotional health as well as physical.
I will never forget one of my first personal training clients, Dawn. I did a consult with Dawn to discuss beginning a training program with her in the gym. I asked her what her goals were and she began to pour her heart out to me. Telling me she wanted to feel better about herself and sharing some life experiences that had her in tears during our first meeting. My heart went out to Dawn. I went through my own life challenges and never truly understood health and happiness until I began my own fitness journey. I was able to relate to her pain and I understood what she needed, and why. At that moment, I was never so sure that I had finally begun the career where my passion lay.
Working with Dawn was so rewarding. We worked on building her strength, physical and emotional. Her confidence grew over time and so did her smile. Being a strong woman who never gave up, Dawn has overcome so much over the years and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to work with her!
For whatever your reason for exercise is, make it priority. It may be a struggle getting to the gym or convincing yourself to begin an exercise program, but getting there and getting started is the hardest part. I’ve never heard anyone say they regretted it after. You need to be strong and healthy to be able to take care of everything and everyone else in life. Even with the busiest schedule, you can always find time…make the time.
It changed my life…and it can change yours!
